Here’s why you should go camping in the low season

Even in the summer, many of our pets were on holiday in the campsite and holiday resort, but we find that our canine and feline guests are particularly fond of the off-season.

 

The autumn season is ideal for a pet-friendly getaway:

• you can book an apartment, tent place or caravan pitch at a lower off-season rate
• the weather is more pleasant – the furry ones can move around more freely, they do not suffer from the heat, and the concrete does not get so hot that their paws are in danger
• there are no crowds, which allows free movement and means less stress for the animals
• in the autumn sunshine, you are more active too, more willing to go on longer walks, for which your dog will be very grateful
• calmer environment – animals are sensitive to noise and hustle and bustle, and Lake Balaton is quieter and more peaceful in autumn
• easier travel – traffic jams are less likely to occur, and your four-legged companion will also have to spend less time in the car or crate

• Our tent places and caravan pitches also offer a comfortable stay. With us, electricity is included in the price; you just need to bring an extension cord if you want to use it. Our comfort pitches are also equipped with electricity, water and sewage connections. In the campsite and holiday resort, a communal kitchen and token operated laundry are also available.
• Easier shopping: No one likes leaving their pet alone in the parking lot of unfamiliar stores. You don’t have to at the campsite and holiday resort! On site, you’ll find a convenience store where you can get everything you might need during your trip: fresh fruit, vegetables, baked goods, dairy products, cold cuts, drinks, and other treats.
• Convenient dining: You can cook in your apartment, in the communal kitchen, or on one of our cosy fire pits. You can even buy firewood and rent a cauldron at reception. Meanwhile, your pet can happily sniff the delicious aromas and watch to see if any tasty bites fall.

What to bring when you go camping with your dog or cat?

If you’re travelling with a pet, there are a few essential items you should bring with you, the most important of which is a valid vaccination book. However, dogs and cats have different needs when it comes to other things. When selecting the equipment, it is worth taking into account the individual characteristics of the animal. Here are some practical items that can come in handy on a pet-friendly trip.

 

 

Equipment for Cats

Cats are more sensitive to changes in their environment, so it is especially important to bring along their familiar items and accessories. This will make it easier for them to adjust to the new situation and to enjoy the rest together.

• Vaccination booklet, microchip certificate
• Cat carrier for safe travel
• Collar with ID tag including your contact details
• Litter tray and litter (a portable version is also available)
• Food and water bowls
• Preferred food
• Favourite bed or blanket
• Favourite toy (wand, ball, travel scratching board)

Dogs love the outdoors, lots of new smells and adventures together. It’s important that you have everything you need for your safety, comfort and undisturbed rest.

• Collar/harness and leash, muzzle (both longer and shorter can be useful)
• Travel crate
• Food and water bowls (portable water bowl for excursions)
• Preferred food and treats
• Dog waste bags
• Favourite bed or blanket

• Possibly a towel, in case a bath is needed

Pet-friendly rules at Aranypart Camping & Apartments

You can stay with your pet – in a tent, caravan or even in an apartment, with up to 2 dogs per house. Take care of the equipment in the accommodation and do not leave the dog alone for long periods. For a peaceful stay, please follow the safety regulations at the campsite and holiday resort and keep the area clean!

Pets are not allowed in Lake Balaton, but if you want to let your dog in the water, we have a solution for that too.

Pet-friendly places in and around Siófok

In the campsite and holiday resort you will find everything you need to relax. However, it’s worth getting out and about, as the area is full of activities that your pet can join you on.

 

• Walks in Siófok: Take your dog for a little city tour among the historic villas, explore Jókai Park, stroll along the Pier, and enjoy the view of Lake Balaton.
• The Siófok Tourinform Office: You’ll find it at the base of the Water Tower. It’s worth paying them a visit. They warmly welcome four-legged friends, provide fresh water, and can give information about numerous pet-friendly services and programmes.
• Töreki Nature Trail: Go for a hike near Siófok along a scenic trail, passing lakes, wetlands, forests, and meadows. The 8.5 km route can be extended up to 14 km, but shorter walks are also possible. Along the way there are rest areas, fire pits, a rain shelter and a bird watching tower.
• Zamárdi Adventure Park: An adventure park reachable by car from Siófok in 15 minutes, offering obstacle courses, slides, and exciting activities across several hectares. The park is dog-friendly, so you can bring your four-legged companion with you. The park is open from 10:00 to 18:00 on weekends in autumn, weather permitting.
