Camping holidays, smaller ecological footprint
Who wouldn’t like to relax on the shores of Lake Balaton, in one of the most beautiful parts of Siófok, immerse yourself in the beauty of nature and enjoy the freedom of holiday moments? However, a holiday also has an ecological footprint, and its size matters.
If you want to keep environmentally friendly and sustainable aspects in mind during your holiday, choose one of the freest forms of recreation: camping, at Aranypart Camping & Apartments!
The ecological footprint of a camping holiday is smaller than that of a hotel stay, where the operation of the building complex, the constantly running machines, the day and night lighting of the rooms, all consume energy even when not in use.
With a little care, you can have a full-fledged holiday with sustainability in mind, and with our tips you can move a little towards zero waste holidays, all in the greatest possible comfort.
We at Aranypart Camping & Apartments take care to reduce the ecological footprint of the accommodation year by year, using solar panels, planting plants regularly, collecting waste selectively and continuously learning and practicing the principles of zero waste with our guests.
With a little awareness you can not only improve your own experience, but also contribute to the future of the planet! Read on and see how your next holiday can be as close to zero waste as possible!
A more sustainable holiday also means
you are spending less!
When camping, sustainability is easier to achieve and with a little care, zero waste is not a problem. What is the secret? Perhaps the fact that at Aranypart Camping && Apartments you can be close to nature and this special waterfront atmosphere encourages you to use fewer electronic devices and resources, as other, truly heart-warming experiences come to the fore.
Enjoying nature requires less infrastructure, so we have less impact on the environment.
Year after year, we experience with you that having a good chat with the nice people around us, going for a morning swim or quiet yoga session on the beach is something that not only relaxes us, but also makes us forget the often unnecessary wastefulness of the modern world.
If you don’t have to spend on unnecessary things and if you don’t have to drive for essential services because you can find them locally, not only will your ecological footprint shrink, but your holiday can be more sustainable and even cost-effective, not to mention the time saved. At Aranypart Camping & Apartments we have brought everything you need close to you. There are great restaurants and a convenience store on site, so shopping can be done easily and locally.
Camping is an economical way of relaxation
If we’re talking about sustainability, don’t forget the individual economic aspects. Camping is a much more budget-friendly option than expensive and impersonal hotels, and you can really be close to nature.
And you can get your accommodation at an even better price if you book in the low or post season at Aranypart Camping & Apartments. You can use the money you save for experiences, which means you’ve already gained more.
Eco-friendly travel to Siófok
Can you go on holiday without a car?
The good thing about camping is that there really is no such thing as impossible, not even in terms of sustainability! Whether you don’t have a car or simply want to reduce your ecological footprint, you can opt for public transport. Some of our guests do it really professionally: they just grab a backpack, a lightweight tent and the holiday can begin. This is what true freedom means!
There is also a local bus stop just a stone’s throw from the campsite and resort village, so if you want to get out of your accommodation you can do so without a car.
You can also rent a bicycle at Aranypart Camping & Apartments. And with two wheels, you can explore the attractions of the area in a truly eco-friendly way. Visit the Bella Zoo Park, take a long walk, explore the old villas in the area, or just wander around the harbour. Sometimes it is the really simple programmes that provide the greatest experiences.
Biking at Lake Balaton
You can even cycle around the lake on the Lake Balaton cycle paths, and if you’re brave enough, you can plan the entire trip by bike. You can also find a route planner designed specifically for cyclists online. The campsite and holiday village is an ideal accommodation for cycling enthusiast.
You can also spend your holiday in a tent if you have space on your bike. If you prefer comfortable accommodation, you can choose one of our apartments or mobile houses to relax and unwind from physical fatigue. At Aranypart Camping & Apartments there are excellent catering facilities and even a convenience store, so you don’t have to carry your groceries with you.
Convenience for of electric car users
Many of our guests have already switched to electric cars and we are seeing this environmentally friendly form of transport becoming more common. If you arrive with an electric car, you can conveniently charge it here, as there is a charging station on site.
Fill up your car with your friends!
Even if you come to us with a caravan or a car, you can still take a step towards being environmentally conscious by filling up all the empty spaces in your vehicle. Bring your friends and let’s all gather on the shores of Lake Balaton—everyone who matters! A full car is more sustainable in every way than everyone having a separate car, as it reduces emissions per person, spreads travel costs, eases traffic and, as a bonus, adds to the fun.
Don’t be discouraged if you fancy a ride but didn’t bring your bike, because you can rent bikes directly at the campsite and resort village.
You can decide how much energy you use
In our heated and cooled mobile houses and apartments, you also decide when to turn on the air conditioners, how high to set them and how many minutes to stand in the shower. All these amenities, when used consciously and in moderation, can contribute to a comfortable yet more sustainable holiday.
From 2025, air conditioning systems will also be installed in Carmen houses to ensure comfort in the summer heat.
Electricity (10 A) is available on all caravan pitches and water and sewage connections are available on the comfort pitches. However, you can decide on the amount of energy you use, taking into account sustainability considerations. We provide free energy use for all campers.
Pack like a minimalist!
The first step to a zero-waste holiday is to think carefully about what you will need and what you will take with you. The excitement of a camping holiday is that every guest is different, so there’s a wide variety of things to pack. However, there are some basic items of equipment that can come in handy to reduce unnecessary waste.
Some useful equipment:
Reusable bottles and camping cutlery, canvas shopping bags are also essential on holiday! Instead of buying plastic bottles, refill your own bottles!
However, true zero waste means not only not producing waste, but also not buying unnecessary things that can be replaced with what we already have.
For a sustainable holiday, it is not necessary, or even advisable, to rush to the first shop and pick up a range of eco-friendly products. A true camping enthusiast has their old favourite items, without which the experience of life would be incomplete.
Bring what you already have with you, and if you find that buying disposable products is unavoidable, choose those that are biodegradable.
The campsite and holiday village facilities will also be at your disposal
In the resort village, you can not only get in touch with nature in caravan pitches or tent pitches, but also in comfortable mobile houses and apartments.
If you opt for one of the latter, you only need to take care of the really personal things, as you’ll have a fully equipped kitchen and all the tools you need for everyday use.
Towels and bed linen are provided on arrival, but will only be changed on request for an extra charge, thus avoiding unnecessary energy consumption.
Outdoor cooking is also available at the campsite, you can buy firewood at the reception, and you can even rent a cauldron from us, so you don’t have to buy the latter.
Cleanliness and waste management in the accommodation
Sustainability is an important value at Aranypart Camping & Apartments, and we also take great care to keep the environment clean and tidy. Luckily, our guests support us in this, as we are proud to see that you are also keeping the campsite and holiday village clean.
If you are camping at our campsite, waste management will not be a challenge. Of course, from a sustainability point of view, it’s best to produce as little rubbish as possible, but you can still collect what you do have during your holiday. There are recycling bins at the campsite for this purpose.
Cook and shop locally!
Camping also gives you the greatest freedom when it comes to meals! During your stay you can surprise yourself with a delicious lunch, or immerse yourself in the world of classic Balaton beach buffets, as you will find gastronomic service providers of quality right on the beach, right on the premises. Of course, the local Balaton wines are also on offer, so look for products from local producers and enjoy the authentic waterfront dishes.
At Aranypart Camping & Apartments, you have the flexibility to cook to your liking. You can cook outdoors, in the kitchen of your mobile house, apartment or using the communal kitchen. You can share the food you’ve prepared, so even saving leftovers is no challenge. In addition, valuable human relations and sustainability aspects can be brought to the fore.
