Before you travel
The rules of booking accommodation have changed
Anyone booking accommodation for a holiday should know that accommodation providers have to comply with new legal requirements from September 2001. This affects guests, too, because they have to present their identity documents on arrival, and their details will be recorded.
Before you set off, do make sure you have your identification on you, otherwise your hosts will not be able to accommodate you.
Things to do before your holiday
Make sure you check the following before your holiday!
All adults and under-18s must have a valid personal ID card or passport to verify your identity.
Document verification for children under 14
Identity documents do not need to be presented for children under the age of 14. Their details can be recorded as provided by their parent or guardian.
[box]Temporary regulations concerning the use of holiday accommodation services
Section 28. In the case of persons under the age of 14 who use accommodation services, the data required under Act CLVI of 2016 on State Duties Pertaining to the Development of Tourism Regions, Section 9/H Paragraph (1) Clause a) can be recorded by the accommodation provider as per the declaration made by the parent or guardian of the aforementioned person under the age of 14. What documents can you use to verify your identity?
All guests, regardless of age, will need a valid photo ID, such as as personal ID card, driving licence or passport. If you travel with a baby or small child, make sure to leave enough time to have their photo ID prepared as well to avoid any issues when you are checking in. You should check your documents when making your reservation, making sure that they will be valid at the time for which you are booking your holiday.
Why is this necessary?
Digital document scanners were introduced in the tourism sector last autumn. All accommodation providers must have this device, and use it to record each guest’s personal details in the VIZA system, on the basis of their identity documents. Accommodation providers must do this after the booking is made, at the time when the guests are checking in.
What is VIZA?
VIZA is a guest identification system; its name comes from the Hungarian abbreviation for Closed Guest Information Database. Accommodation providers must use a digital document scanner to record the personal details of persons who reserve accommodation, similarly to the National Data Centre for Tourism (NTAK).
The following details must be recorded:
family and given names;
family and given names at birth;
place of birth;
date of birth;
sex;
nationality;
mother’s given and maiden names (if shown on the identity document);
identification details of identity or travel document.
Checking in
After making your booking but before your holiday starts, you must check in at the reception and verify your documents.
Reception: When can you check in?
The reception of Aranypart Camping is open around the clock when the campsite is open, but you should try to arrive before the gates are closed. After the gates are closed, motor vehicles are only allowed to enter the campsite in exceptional circumstances. The gates are closed between 11pm and 6am, so please take this into account when planning your journey.
Parking: Who can park where at the campsite?
In the interest of our guests’ comfort and security, we operate an automated number plate recognition system, which means you will only be able to drive onto the campsite if you have a valid booking and paid for your stay in full. You can park your car outside the campsite before you check in, and the barrier will open automatically after you have checked in and paid for your stay. Afterwards, you can park free of charge for the entire duration of your holiday on your own plot or in the designated space next to your mobile house.
Undisturbed relaxation is guaranteed during your holiday
Many families visit our campsite but we also welcome a lot of guests who are looking for peace and an opportunity to relax during their stay. To help them achieve that, we introduced a quiet period, which starts at 11pm. During this time, noisy activities are prohibited and motor vehicles can only be driven on the campsite in exceptional circumstances. We want all of our guests to enjoy their stay, and ask for your cooperation to ensure they can.
A dog-friendly accommodation
The campsite has extensive grounds, and is the ideal place to let your dogs run free. It is worth noting before your holiday that we can accommodate 3 pets on each plot, and 2 dogs per mobile house. There are certain rules you will need to observe. For example, you will have to present your pets’ vaccination logs, so make sure to pack it before you leave home. Also, dogs must be kept on a leash to avoid giving other guests a scare or causing any injuries.
Beach
Aranypart Camping is located in Siófok, right by Lake Balaton. Campsite guests have access to the public beach, and will not need to purchase a ticket or lug their beach equipment a long way because the campsite has several gates that lead directly to the lake. The lakeside area was refurbished in 2021, and is home to many snack bars, a wakeboard track and pedalo hire, as well.
Please be hereby advised that the personal data as per specified in the prevailing laws of any guests using any accommodation services in Hungary shall, pursuant to the prevailing laws*, as from 2 September 2021, as part of the check-in procedure by the accommodation service provider, be registered via document reader in the respective management software used by the accommodation service provider and shall, upon registration, be transferred to the data storage system ‘Vendég Információs Zárt Adatbázis’ (‘Closed Guest Information Database’, VIZA).

Children under the age of 18 must also have a valid identity card
In accordance with the current domestic travel and accommodation legislation, children under the age of 18 must also have a valid ID. Important: please note that a student ID card is not sufficient.
