I. Siófok MÖLKKY /finnish bowling/ championship and Juhannus feast

Not secretly with the intention of creating tradition, the Hungarian-Finnish Friends of Siófok and with the professional support of the Hungarian Mölkky Association of Siófok are organizing the 1st Siófok Mölkky Championship and Juhannus Ünnep event.

In Finland, the summer solstice, Midsummer’s Eve, is a big holiday, as the long, dark days and nights are replaced for a while by the promise and possibility of light, warmth, outdoor activities. Huge bonfires are lit to ward off evil spirits, the waters of the Land of a Thousand Lakes are filled with life, boats and bonfires are lit.

Friends and families get together, have a good chat, picnic, enjoy the warmth of summer and play Finnish bowls, or Mölkky.

We Finnish friends would like to celebrate and share this with you, so that we can celebrate with our Finnish friends, even if geographically distant, but with the closeness of friendly hearts.

Come, let’s spend the afternoon and early evening of the summer solstice (21 June 2025) together in the nature (Töreki Cinege rest);
play Finnish bowling (mölkky) coordinated by the Hungarian Mölkky Association, where the most skilful will receive valuable prizes;
fill in the Finnish quiz, and the best participant will receive a gift package from the Municipality of Siófok;
Let’s chat, have fun and build a bonfire in the evening!
Pre-registration for the competition is recommended, but you can also register on the spot if you wake up late
